Your Perfect Pokémon Tales: Z-A Mega Evolution Based on the Astrological Sign

The comeback of Super Forms in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has ignited immense enthusiasm within the community. From the gradual unveiling of fresh additions ahead of the game's release, to trainers developing firm views on the full roster of new Megas, there's plenty for fans to look forward to.

Given many of the Super Forms boasting unique appearances that highlight their traits, one idea came to mind: How can connect this with astrology? The following is inspired by a blend of intuition, sign stereotypes, and personal experience.

The Ram – Super Camerupt

Honestly, Houndour's evolution was nearly selected for this fire sign, as they are the Mega Pokémon and astrological sign that inspire the greatest apprehension. But, a Super Houndoom appears as always furious, which doesn't match the Ram's energy, renowned for being fun, light-hearted, and spontaneous. This makes Aries much more akin to Mega Camerupt, which solely erupts when angered. Remain on the friendly side of either and benefit from a powerful partner; if you cross them, prepare to face the consequences.

The Bull – Mega Heracross

Similar to a devoted Taurus, the reliable Heracross species, both in its standard and Super Form, has aided numerous trainers in Legends: Z-A. While dependable, each the Pokémon and a Taurus are still Fighting types, and – be it their companion or a firm belief – will stand up for their position to the end. What about Mega Heracross that recalls most of my Bull-sign companions, though, is its unashamed love of treats. Several previous official descriptions note their craving for tasty tree sap and how it uses its horn to collect it everything, which is true Bull-sign vibe.

Gemini – Mega Medicham

Observe this total royalty. It's impossible to convince me this creature is not the soul of every party, offering an constant stream of chatter to those who wish to listen. Much like an captivating, gregarious Twins, it's incredibly simple to envision Mega Medicham captivating an entire open area with their tales. This Pokémon's official description also states its ability to foresee an enemy’s next moves, which sounds very similar to a socially-savvy Gemini.

The Crab – Super Manectric

The Crab is widely regarded as the most sensitive member of the astrological wheel, a passionate symbol known for often becoming wrapped up in their emotions. Per the Pokédex, Mega Evolution fills the Pokémon with a “huge quantity of energy, but it's excessive for this Pokémon to completely control,” which seems a lot like a classic Crab emotional outburst. This Pokémon is also known for its capability to make a thundercloud over its own self – and if there’s a single trait a Cancer is going to do, it’s rain on their own parade.

The Lion – Mega Starmie

Well, did you think I was going to pick Pyroar for the king of the zodiac? Besides the reality that it would be much too on the nose, The Lion is obviously Super Starmie, the diva whose gams just became an internet sensation for being extremely fabulous (or terrifying, depending on your taste). Players were captivated from the violet starfish, and that’s exactly the identical energy a Lion offers to the table. This Pokémon is also said to be broadcasting radio waves from its center out into space, and it’s just like a Leo to be staging a performance, even if for aliens.

Virgo – Mega Victreebel

The ever-prepared and perpetually-anxious Virgo is ideally represented in Super Victreebel, the Super Form with perpetual digestive issues. The sign known for being endearingly judgmental is strongly mirrored across this creature's whole evolutionary chain, from a perpetually surprised face like a Maiden when you inform them you don’t have a retirement plan, to its upside-down visage that’s similar to the symbol a Virgo posts to the chatroom when everyone says they want to “go with the flow” rather than creating a plan.

The Scales – Super Audino

Observe this gentle, sensitive being, who employs the feelers on its ears to tell how people are feeling by their pulse. Always empathetic – occasionally to a detriment – and trying to keep the peace, there are numerous Scales who would probably appreciate Mega Audino’s skills. Though, to be frank, it would likely just cause them to stress more about others.

Scorpio – Mega Banette

Banette is a creature with a unexpectedly sad origin: Abandoned as a doll, it gained sentient through sheer hatred and vowed revenge on its previous caretaker. According to the Pokédex, Super Evolution, “enhances its vindictiveness.” That seems exactly like many conversations I’ve had with my scary Scorpion acquaintances. A Scorpion loves cosmic justice and retribution, making them the perfect pair with Mega Banette.

Sagittarius – Mega Hawlucha

Both Super Hawlucha and Archers are constantly putting on a show. As a Sagittarius myself, the amount of occasions I’ve referred to myself some version of a “silly little entertainer” is countless. The most flamboyant and most obnoxious Super Form, its Pokédex entry even notes how it “poses to display its power.” I would do the very same thing if I had a Super Form, making Super Hawlucha the most fitting Sagittarius counterpart I can imagine.

Capricorn – Mega Absol

Did you know that a Mega Absol has the power to foresee calamities in advance? That gives the exact same vibe as a Capricorn, who tends to always think they’re right. Interestingly, similar to a prophetic Mega Absol, they frequently are. It’s also the absolute first Super Form that trainers encounter in Legends: Z-A – just like a Capricorn to join the beginning of the Mega trend.

The Water Bearer – Mega Chandelure

Aloof air sign Water Bearer is possibly the non-fire placement that is closest to a flame symbol – its sister sign is the Lion, and there are countless jokes about the Archer and Aquarius being unpredictable accomplices. Super Chandelure's double Spirit/Flame typing fits seamlessly with this, and the Super Form's general intimidating presence is also very Aquarius. If you weren’t already persuaded, the Super Form's description says it “absorbs negative energy and transforms it into power.” If that fails to perfectly {encaps
