Trump Calls Families of Injured Guard Members to the Presidential Residence

President Donald Trump revealed on Sunday that he has extended an invitation the loved ones of a National Guard member fatally shot last week to attend the presidential home.

He mentioned that he conversed with her family and they were “devastated”.

US army specialist Beckstrom, twenty years old, was killed in a shooting on Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her colleague, Andrew Wolfe, 24, remains hospitalized in grave state.

White House Call

The commander-in-chief explained he’s discussed a White House visit for the families of both individuals of the state National Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a tough thing, visit the White House. We’re going to honor her,” the president informed journalists. “And likewise with Andrew, recover or not.”

Public Reaction

Mourners came together over the past few days at a local school in West Virginia to pay respects to Beckstrom.

Both they had been serving with the West Virginia National Guard as part of the president’s government program to assist law enforcement in Washington DC.

“Sarah was the individual that educators wished for. She behaved with calm resilience, a contagious smile and a upbeat demeanor that lifted people around her,” the principal, the principal of her alma mater, stated to the media. “She was kind, caring and always willing to assist people.”

Memorial details for Beckstrom are yet to be finalized.

Legal Actions and Government Adjustments

Authorities have charged a twenty-nine-year-old Afghan national with a charge of homicide and charges of attempted murder while carrying a weapon.

The incident prompted the administration to halt asylum applications and temporarily stop providing visas to holders of passports from Afghanistan.

Condition of Wolfe

Wolfe, a native of the city, started his military career in early 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman High, according to the Associated Press.

He is still undergoing care and is “battling to survive”, West Virginia governor the governor said on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

Attorney general Pam Bondi informed the program that she also intended to meet with his relatives.

Legacy of Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from her hometown, graduated from Webster County High in June 2023 and began her service not long after, working as a MP with excellence, as stated by the military.

“She had a lot of kindness and she absolutely had fortitude,” he addressed the crowd at the memorial. “Though her time ended too soon, she has created a legacy that’s going to be remembered always.”
