I'll dominate 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.
British boxer Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" the American and "break" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to publicize next month's boxing match.
Former twice unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Fighter's Mentality
"I'm going to damage his features and hurt his body. My goal is to show my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I will seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my intention."
Respectful Exchange
Despite those words, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Paul - typically known for his showmanship - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul rather targeted former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian rejected a bout proposal.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized British rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a victory for Paul.
"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua stated.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he remarked.
Paul's Background
Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since becoming pro.
He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
Still, the novice is still one of the sport's largest money-making draws, regularly earning substantial financial rewards.
Forecast and Belief
The 28-year-old anticipated a stoppage in round four or five and asserted he would stop the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.
Size Disparity
As the two fighters engaged in the traditional confrontation, with their size difference clearly visible, it emphasized just how unlikely this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is really happening.
