Assassin's Creed Reveals Unexpected AoT Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre partnership that challenges traditional predictions, Ubisoft has unveiled an digital collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.
Strange Questline Revealed
According to the official announcement, "A strange confrontation pulls protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a original quest, where whispers of banned practices and terrifying metamorphoses echo through the obscurity." The narrative features a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a hidden cult.
The questline concentrates on "peculiar tests and a monstrous adversary" and is accessible to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Settings and Metamorphoses
The preview highlights the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer finishes with a dramatic sequence showing a character, likely the captive, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Rewards and Extra Features
Players who finish the mission will obtain an unique katana together with multiple objects secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-themed attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Unique implements
- Survey Corps steed
Latest Free Story Addition
This update also adds the game's latest no-cost story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted mission pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap signature skills: Naoe introduces a dramatic version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-lethal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Mystery" also contains a original environmental puzzle that may ultimately explain some lingering questions from the main storyline.
